Frequently asked questions.

What does '“suSTAINED” mean?

At suSTAINED, our name is inspired by our mission: blending sustainable fashion for mindful individuals. The word "suSTAINED" combines "stained" and "sustained," representing our commitment to reclaiming materials that have been discarded due to stains or imperfections. These "stained threads" are given a new life, ensuring we don’t cut into good material or contribute to waste. Our tagline, stained threads reclaimed, speaks to our dedication to transforming what others overlook into sustainable, stylish, and thoughtful creations.

Where do you source material?

We source our materials from thrift stores and garage sales, carefully selecting items that are deemed unusable in their current state. These materials, often overlooked or discarded, are the foundation of our work. We either repurpose them as they are or transform them into new fabrics using weaving and knitting techniques.

At suSTAINED, we are committed to stained threads reclaimed. This means we avoid purchasing newly manufactured materials entirely, staying true to our mission of blending sustainable fashion for mindful individuals. By focusing on what already exists, we reduce waste and celebrate the potential of every piece.
